Mecidiyeköy Art Gallery
Mecidiyeköy Art Gallery, situated in one of Istanbul’s bustling locales, Mecidiyeköy Square, was established as part of a project aimed at transforming the square into a hub for art and culture. This initiative is an effort to infuse the area, which was previously an underutilized space frequented by hundreds daily, with the city’s identity and cultural stance.
Opening and Exhibitions
- The gallery, which opened on October 21, 2021, following a 10-month project, hosts exhibitions that reflect the social memory of the city.
Additional Cultural Spaces in Mecidiyeköy Square
- Alongside the Mecidiyeköy Art Gallery, the square also features several other cultural institutions. This includes the first-of-its-kind Lending Library in Turkey, Istanbul Bookstore, Mecidiyeköy Art, a BELTUR buffet, and a Solution Center.
